How to become a member and to sign in
You will need to be signed in as a registered member to access the features and to be able to send a card. To set up your personal account, all you need is an active email account. Click the "Join" link at the top of the home page. Fill in the requested information and click "Submit Order". To sign in to your account, click the "Sign in" link at the top of the page and enter the email address and password you used to sign up. You can chose to have GreetingSpring save your User ID and password on your computer so you don't have to log in every time you come to this Web site. Please note: If you are using a public or shared computer, you should not choose the 'Remember Me' option because it will allow other users of the computer to access your information.

When you have successfully signed in to your account, you'll see a personalized welcome message that reads: "Welcome back your name!"

If you do not see a welcome message with your name, you have not signed in successfully. If you have lost your password go here.

Once you are successfully signed in, you can enjoy the use of all of your membership features and go ahead and send ecards.

How to send a card
You will need to be signed in as a registered member to gain access to all of the features and to be able to send a card. Browse through the selection on our site and pick the ecard you want to send. Click on the thumbnail image to get a full-screen view. At any time, you can click the 'Send' button. You will be promted to customize your greeting.

  • TO: Enter the email address of the recipient.
    If you're a member, you can use your Address Book to add recipients or to send to groups. Click "Address Book Contacts". Check all the pals and/or groups you want to send your greeting to and click "Submit". They will now show in your "To" field. Groups are listed in brackets.
    Example: [My Group]
  • FROM: Displays the email address we have on file for your account.
  • Message- This is where you enter your personalized message. This text will be displayed along with the animated ecard.

When you are done customizing you card, click the Preview button. If you want to change the message or the recipient info, simply click the Change button to go back to the customize page.

If you want to send the card at a later date, set the date in the dropdown boxes and click "Send Later." To send right away, simply click the Send button. A confirmation page will show that your card has been sent.

How to receive a card
When you receive a card, a notification email from GreetingSpring will show up in your email inbox. This email only contains text with a URL (hyperlink), and no graphics or attachments. The URL directs recipients to a unique web page with the ecard that was created for them. The URL should look something like this:

Click on the URL in the body of the email. If clicking the link in your email does not automatically open your web browser, simply copy the link and paste it into the address bar at the top of your browser window.

How to use "Favorites"
"My Favorites" is an convenient way to organize ecards you would like to have easily accessible. When viewing an ecard, simply click the "Add to My Favorites" link in the upper right corner of the page. If you click the "Favorites" tab, you will now see the ecards you have marked as "Favorites". Click the thumbnail to preview a favorite. If you want to send one of your favorites, simply click "Send" and send the card like normal. You can also choose to create a reminder connected to the card. Click "Remind me to send this card" and fill in the reminder form. This reminder will show up as a "Favorite Reminder" in your Reminders listing and can be edited like any other custom reminder. If a favorite has a reminder associated with it, you will see a calendar icon below the thumbnail. Click "Remove" to remove a card from your "Favorites" listing

How to organize "Reminders"
By default, the "Reminders" page shows a listing of all your active reminders sorted in a chronological order, with the next upcoming event on top of the list. Click other column headers to re-sort the list.

There are four different categories of reminders.

  • Favorites Reminder (described above.)
  • Common Event Reminder (Includes birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)
  • Holiday Reminder (Includes the most common holidays.)
  • Custom Event Reminder(Any event. You provide a description when entering the reminder.)

To add a reminder to your list, click the "Add" link above the reminder list. Fill in the respective event description form, set the date of the event (except for standard holidays), and chose when you want to receive an email reminder. The emails will be sent to the email address we have on file for your account. Click the "Add" button. This will bring you back to the Reminders List, which now includes the reminder you just added. The "Bell" icon indicates whether or not you have chosen to receive an email reminder or if you simply want the event listed under "My Reminders". All custom events and personal reminders are listed in bold.

You edit a reminder by clicking the icon in the "Edit" column for the respective reminder, and delete a reminder by clicking the icon in the "Delete" column.

How to use the "History" listing
You can access your ecard history under the "My Account" tab, showing the cards previously sent and the cards pending. By clicking the Card Name, you can preview the ecard.

By clicking the "Forward" icon you can further customize the card and sent it to new recipients.

By clicking the "View" icon you see the card as the recipient will see the card, including the customized greeting text. If you are sending the same card to multiple recipients, each recipient shows up as a separate entry in your history listing.

If you want to cancel a future card to a recipient, simply click the delete icon next to the pending card name in your history list.

How to use the Address Book
The address book stores information about your contacts, called "My Pals". By default, the page lists all contacts, sorted alphabetically by First Name. Click another column header to re-sort the list. Use the "Go To" alphabet links to see the first name beginning with a specific letter.

To add a pal quickly, use the Add a pal form below the Pal list. To add more information, like birthday, mailing address, phone numbers etc., use the "Advanced" link. You can also add or edit information on a contact by clicking the "Edit" link in the contact list. Clicking the "Delete" icon will delete the entry completely. By deleting a contact, the contact will also be removed from any groups he or she belongs to.

When adding personal information for a contact, you can chose to be reminded about his or her birthday. By clicking the checkbox on the edit entry page, you will create a reminder of the birthday entered. The reminder now displays in your reminder list. To have reminder emails sent to you, click the edit icon on the reminder page.

You can create contact groups to easily send a card to multiple contacts. To add contacts to a group, select contacts from the list of current pals. To select multiple pals, hold down the Ctrl key (PC). Click the "Add" button to add them to the current group. Individual contacts can be members of more than one group.

To create a new contact to add to your group, fill in the required fields under "Add a New Pal to Group" and then click "Add". This contact will now also be available in the "My Pal" listing.

If you want to remove contacts from a group, click the contacts you want to remove in the group listing to the right and click "Remove". This will remove the contact from the group but keep the contact in "My Pals"

I cannot view a card/animation
Our ecards are displayed as a Flash file. To view these, you will need to have Flash Player Version 8. You can download Flash Player 8 for FREE at

After installation is complete, click the link in your notification email again and the ecard should play automatically in your browser.

If you have downloaded the Flash Player and are still unable to view animation on our site, please contact us for technical support.

The cards play slow or choppy
Slow modem speeds or slow computer processors can cause delays or slow animation on our ecards. We recommend using a modem speed of at least 56k to connect to the web, and a computer processor speed of at least 133 MHz. We also recommend closing all other applications on your computer (except your web browser) while you are viewing our ecards. If you still experience difficulty, you may want to install more memory on your computer or upgrade your Internet connection. See also System Requirements.

Can I only send cards to other members?
No, you can send an ecard to anybody with a valid email address. The recipient will receive an email from GreetingSpring containing a link to your personalized message. The recipient(s) do need to register to be able to reply with an ecard.

I forgot my username and/or password
Your username is identical to the email address you used to sign up. If you have the email address you used when you signed up you can enter the email here and we will send you your password. If you are missing both your username and password, you need to contact Customer Service to obtain your user information.

System Requirements
Operating Systems

    Windows 98/Me/2000/XP. To see what version of Windows you are currently running, please click on the "START" button in the lower left corner of your desktop. Your version of Windows should be displayed along the left side of the menu that appears.
  • MAC
    Mac OS X 10.1.x or above. To find out what operating system you are currently running, click on the apple in the upper left corner of your desktop. From the menu that appears, select "About this computer." Your operating system should be displayed in bold letter in the screen that appears.

You need Macromedia Flash Player 8 to view our ecards, which is supported on all major web browsers, including the following: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and above (5.2 for OS X), Firefox 1.x, Mozilla 1.x, Netscape 7.x and above, AOL 9 (AOL for OS X), Opera 7.11(6 for OS X) and Safari 1.x and above. Web Appliances (Web TV etc.)
Some newer web appliances come with a version of the Flash plugin necessary to view animation. If you have one of these, you may be able to send and receive our online ecards.

Some programs meant to safeguard your computer, or programs that effect web browsing, can interfere with some of the features on our site. If you have any problems while on the site (such as logging in or downloading one of our tools), please try disabling your Anti Virus program and/or Pop up blocker, close your web browser, then return to the site. When you're finished using our site, be sure to enable your Anti Virus program and/or pop up blockers again. is not responsible for any damages regarding the disabling of Anti Virus software. Our website is completely safe and our ecards are virus free and cannot be modified.

Site Security
We use a technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which is the industry standard for secure commerce transactions. SSL encrypts all of your personal information, including your name, address, and credit-card number, so that the information cannot be read as it travels over the Internet. Actually, it's safer to transmit your credit card information over the Internet than it is to use your credit card around town, so you can be assured that all online transactions involving credit cards or personal information are secure.

  • Send any ecard on the site. You can send as many ecards as you'd like!
  • Use Favorites to save your favorite ecards in a single location for easy sending.
  • Set up email Reminders for upcoming birthdays, holidays and other events.
  • Store all your email addresses in your Address Book and create convenient contact groups.
  • Use your History to view your previously sent ecards and monitor and edit your pending ecards.
  • Edit any of your personal information including email address, password, and preferences using My Account.

To edit your account information
Click the "My Account" tab. This page displays all your account information, including log in information, contact information, ecard history and account options (like newsletter subscriptions etc.) To edit any of these settings, simply click the "change" link next to the specific field. This brings you to the "Modify your profile" page. You can now change any account information. After changing the information, click the Submit button. To discard any changes made, click the "Reset Form" button.
